Acrylic CPR Sign Installation Instructions
Instructions for Installing Acrylic CPR Signs
Step 1: Consideration of Location
- Before mounting the acrylic CPR signs, carefully assess the location. Avoid areas with direct sunlight exposure as prolonged exposure may cause warping of the acrylic over time.
Step 2: Surface Preparation
- Ensure the mounting surface is thoroughly cleaned and free from any dust, oil, or other contaminants. Please note that certain paints may contain substances such as Teflon, which could affect adhesion.
Step 3: Ensuring Alignment
- Utilize a spirit level to ensure precise alignment and level placement of the acrylic CPR sign. Consider marking the location of the sign holes beforehand and predrilling if necessary to ensure accurate placement and prevent any damage to the mounting surface.
Step 4: Mounting Your Sign
-
For Standoff or Screw Mounted Signs:
- When drilling holes, start with a smaller diameter and gradually increase, exercising caution to prevent any damage to the acrylic. Place some timber under the sign to drill into to prevent bow out. Ideally, utilize a drill press for optimal precision.
- Select appropriate fixings suitable for the mounting surface, such as plasterboard plugs with screws or masonry plugs for concrete.
-
For Liquid Adhesive Mounting (Reverse Printed Acrylic Signs):
- ONLY USE A NEUTRAL CURE SILICONE POLYURETHANE ADHESIVE.
- Avoid using general construction adhesives or solvent-based solutions like liquid nails, as they may compromise the integrity of the graphics.
-
For Double-Sided Tape:
- For smooth and flat surfaces, heavy-duty double-sided tape can be an effective mounting solution.
- Choose a double-sided tape that is rated for outdoor use to ensure longevity and durability.
- Clean the mounting surface thoroughly and ensure it is completely dry before applying the tape.
- Cut the tape to the desired length and apply it evenly along the back of the acrylic CPR sign.
- Press firmly to ensure proper adhesion between the sign and the mounting surface.
- For added security, consider using multiple strips of tape along the edges of the sign.
- Once mounted, allow the adhesive to set for the recommended time before removing any protective film or applying additional pressure.
Step 5: Removing Protective Film
- The acrylic CPR signs are supplied with a clear protective film to safeguard against scratches and scuffs. Once the sign is securely mounted, carefully remove this protective coating.
Cleaning and Maintenance
- For routine cleaning, utilize warm soapy water, and if necessary, Isopropyl Alcohol. Please exercise caution during cleaning, as acrylic is susceptible to scratching.
