How to Install Aluminium CPR Signs

Choose an installation method that suits the sign option and the exact mounting surface. The brushed aluminium product is available with or without pre-drilled holes.

Before you start

  • Choose a visible location and confirm any site-specific position or sign requirements.
  • Check that the wall, fence or other mounting surface is sound, clean and suitable for the proposed fixing method.
  • Check behind the fixing points for pipes, wiring or other services before drilling.
  • Use fixings or adhesive specified for the mounting surface and outdoor conditions. Ask the surface manufacturer or a qualified installer if you are unsure.

Signs with pre-drilled holes

  1. Hold the sign in position, check it is level and mark the fixing points through the existing holes.
  2. Confirm each marked point is suitable and clear of hidden services. Do not drill into glass or another surface that is not designed to be drilled.
  3. Use screws, anchors and washers appropriate for the mounting surface. Drill pilot or anchor holes only where required by the fixing manufacturer.
  4. Fasten the sign evenly. Do not overtighten the screws or bend the panel.
  5. Check that the sign is secure and sits flat without movement.

Signs without pre-drilled holes

  1. Use a suitable exterior-grade sign adhesive only after checking compatibility with both the aluminium panel and the mounting surface.
  2. Prepare the surface exactly as directed by the adhesive and surface manufacturers. It must be clean, dry, sound and free from dust, grease or loose coating.
  3. Apply and support the sign in accordance with the adhesive instructions, including the stated curing time.
  4. Check the bond after curing and periodically after installation.

Do not assume every painted, powder-coated, masonry, fence or wall surface is suitable for adhesive. These are general mounting steps, not structural or site-compliance advice. If the surface or fixing method is uncertain, use a qualified installer or contact CPRSigns before installation.
